With our Outpatient Coder On-Demand class, you will learn all of the necessary information to pass the COC exam with the AAPC.  Students will have access to materials for 12 months.  Our on-demand classes not only include PowerPoint videos, but also pre-recorded sessions of the instructor, in a classroom....just as if you are sitting in the front row!  Ohana Coding's Outpatient Coder training prepares the student for the Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) exam through the AAPC.  Real world coding scenarios and exam taking techniques are covered in the class.  Proficiency across the covered material, which include:

• Assigning accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures and services performed in the outpatient setting (emergency department visits, outpatient clinic visits, same day surgeries, diagnostic testing (radiology and laboratory) and outpatient therapies (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and chemotherapy)

• Evaluation and management, anesthesia, surgical services, radiology, pathology and medicine

• Coding rules and regulations

• Ability to integrate coding and reimbursement rule changes in a timely manner to include updating the Charge Description Master (CDM), fee updates and the Field Locators (FL) on the UB04

• Correctly completing a CMS 1500 for ASC services and UB04 for outpatient services, including the appropriate application of modifiers

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology commensurate with ability to correctly code provider services and diagnoses

• A working knowledge in the assignment of ICD-10-CM codes

Outpatient Coder on-demand students are provided with two hours of one-on-one sessions with a CPC-I (Certified Professional Coder-Instructor), to be scheduled between the instructor and student.  The sessions are used to clarify any questions and review notes to prepare for the exam.

Tuition includes textbook, homework assignments, and practice exams.

Required books for 2022 classes, not included: 2022 CPT, 2022 ICD-10-CM, and 2022 HCPCS​.

Examinees must be a current member of AAPC, however, membership is not required to participate in class.

On-Demand Course - $1495 in full or $1595 for payment plan ($100 processing: $525 at registration and access to first 1/3 of class, then $525 for the next 1/3 and lastly $545 for access to last 1/3 of class)
