Certified Inpatient Coder
With our CIC On-Demand class, you will learn all of the necessary information to pass the exam with the AAPC. Students will have access to materials for 12 months. Our on-demand classes not only include PowerPoint videos, but also pre-recorded sessions of the instructor, in a classroom....just as if you are sitting in the front row! Ohana Coding's Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) training prepares the student for the Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) exam through the AAPC. Real world coding scenarios and exam taking techniques are covered in the class. Proficiency across the covered material, which include:
Expertise in medical record review to abstract information required to support accurate inpatient coding
Expertise in assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS medical codes for diagnoses and procedures performed in the inpatient setting
Superior knowledge of current rules, regulations, and issues regarding medical coding, compliance, and reimbursement under MS-DRG and IPPS systems
Strong ability to integrate coding and reimbursement rule changes in a timely manner to include updating the Charge Description Master (CDM), fee updates, and the Field Locators (FL) on the UB04
Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology required to correctly code facility services and diagnoses
Understanding of outpatient reimbursement methodologies (OPPS)
Hours of education: 24. Earn 24 CEUs if currently AAPC certified.
CIC on-demand students are provided with two hours of one-on-one sessions with a CPC-I (Certified Professional Coder-Instructor), to be scheduled between the instructor and student. The sessions are used to clarify any questions and review notes to prepare for the exam.
Tuition includes textbook, homework assignments, and practice exams.
Required books for 2020 classes, not included: 2020 ICD-10-CM and 2020 ICD-10-PCS.

On-Demand Course - $995 in full or $1,095 for payment plan ($100 processing: $395 at registration and access to first 1/3 of class, $395 for access to middle 1/3 of class, $305 for access to final 1/3 of class)
